Transportation

  • Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG) -- MRCOG is a unique governmental agency which takes a regional approach to urban and rural planning in Central New Mexico. MRCOG is responsible for regional transportation planning and the mid-region transit district, as well as a number of other regional planning activities.  MRGOC's website has many resources available including a variety of traffic and roadway maps. 
  • City of Rio Rancho Public Infrastructure Department -- Public Infrastructure is charged with the development, inspection, construction, maintenance and management of the public right-of-ways that encompass the city's streets and drainage ways.  Public Infrastructure further manages and maintains city buildings.  This work is carried out by three divisions: Building Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations & Maintenance.
  • Albuquerque International Sunport -- The Sunport is the State's largest commercial airport located in Albuquerque approximately 30 minutes from Rio Rancho.  The Sunport is served by eight major carriers and handles over six million passengers a year. 
  • Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) -- BNSF railroads run north-south and east-west through New Mexico along the same lines as the interstate highways.  A BNSF railroad line runs through Bernalillo, Rio Rancho's neighbor city to the northeast, located five minutes from Rio Rancho.  An intermodal facility is also located in downtown Albuquerque. 
  • Official Airline Guide (OAG) -- OAG is a global travel and transport information company with a great deal of information on airlines, airports, and flight data.
