Utilities

  • Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) -- PNM is the publicly regulated provider of electricity and natural gas for Rio Rancho and much of the State.  PNM serves more than 900,000 customers throughout the State with offices in 20 different localities. 
  • City of Rio Rancho Utilities Department -- The Utilities Division is responsible for the operations of the water and wastewater system, utilities planning, and the Environmental Program which includes the Water Conservation Program. 
  • Waste Management of New Mexico (WM) -- WM is a privately contracted company responsible for solid waste collection, disposal and recycling in Rio Rancho.  Their operations headquarters for the entire State of New Mexico is based in Rio Rancho. 
  • New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (NMPRC) Utility Division -- The NMPRC is constitutionally mandated as the regulator of public utilities, telecommunications companies, and insurance companies.  The Utility Division is the utility regulatory arm of the NMPRC.
  • Qwest -- Qwest provides phone, long distance, wireless, and internet service in Rio Rancho.  Qwest is one of the nations leading teleservice companies with over 14.5 million access lines. 
  • Xspedius -- Xspedius is an alternative option to Qwest as a local service telecommunications provider including phone, long distance and internet service.
  • Cable One -- Cable One serves as Rio Rancho's cable television provider.  Cable One also provides digital cable and internet access.
